In Year 9 and Year 10 students attend Careers lessons, two weeks of work experience (Year 10 only) and participate in learning about subject selection and decision making for Years 11 and 12.
Career education lesson topics include job seeking skills, resume writing, researching of careers, further education and training, occupational health and safety issues, role playing, presentation and interview practice.
Work experience
Year 10 students are expected to undertake work experience. The careers adviser will provide information to students and parents on how and where to seek work experience. The correct forms will need to be completed before the student is permitted to undertake work experience.
Year 11 and Year 12
In Year 11, students are invited to ask for advice about careers, subject changes and future pathways information. In Year 12, each student is expected to participate in a formal interview with the careers adviser.
