Careers
At Yanco Agricultural High School, students engage in career education from Year 7 through to Year 12. Careers lessons and workshops help students build the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to make informed choices about their future.
Year 7–10
Students in Years 7 and 8 now participate in careers lessons and workshops throughout the year. In Year 9 and 10, students continue with structured careers lessons, learning about subject selection and decision making for their senior years.
- Work Experience: Year 10 students are expected to complete two weeks of work experience. Year 9 students may also be offered the opportunity to undertake work experience, depending on their readiness and behaviour at school. All placements require the correct forms to be completed and approved before students can participate.
Year 11–12
Students in Years 11 and 12 are encouraged to seek advice about careers, subject changes, and future pathways. Work experience opportunities are available to all students who express interest at any stage during their senior years. In Year 12, each student is expected to take part in a formal careers interview with the Careers Adviser.
