Interschool Equestrian
Four YAHS riders competed at the Snowy Mountains Interschool Equestrian event recently and brought home a swag of ribbons and trophies for their efforts. The four girls (Jane Fitzgerald, Kiara Henderson, Georgia Nicholson and Tully Byrnes) competed successfully both individually and as a team, while proudly representing their school. Jane won many individual events and had lots of placings with her two horses and cleaned up winning three of the major awards; Age Champion on Bruce, The Snowy Mountains Stock Horse and Kent Saddlery High Point Stockhorse Challenge winner as well as the Sue West Highest Point Score Award K-12.
Georgia Nicholson competed on both Charlie and Teddy. Teddy and Georgia went very well in the C Grade ODE and Stockman's Challenge but their standout performance was clearing 1.3 meters in the 6 bar, surprising no one more than Georgia!
Kiara and Banjo performed exceptionally well in the sporting events, Stockman's Challenge, Dressage and even had a go at the jumping, again winning a swag of ribbons.
Tully and her two horses, Fresco and Tee went very well in the ODE, sporting and show jumping, also winning loads of ribbons. Tully and Tee's dressage in the ODE was particularly good.
The girls would like to thank their parents for being their strappers on the day and are looking forward to being a part of the larger group of YAHS riders to represent the school at Coonabarabran Interschool event later in the term.
Well done on your outstanding success
