Weekends at school

Weekends at school provide time for socialising, sport and other activities as well as study and relaxation.

Wake up

A student’s day begins around 7:30am when they get up, shower, dress for the day, make their bed, tidy their area and complete any other tasks assigned to them.

Students on stock duties and/or with a horse will have to complete associated tasks before breakfast.

8.00am

Breakfast

As per weekday routine.

There is a mandatory roll call at every meal on the weekend.

Activities

Range of different activities that students may participate in and school facilities that students may utilise.

12.30pm

Lunch

Students have lunch in the dining room.

All students must attend lunch.

There is a mandatory roll call at every meal on the weekend.

Afternoon

Activities

Range of different activities that students may participate in and school facilities that students may utilise.

Students encouraged to go out and join an activity.

6.00pm

Dinner

Dinner is served in the school dining room.

There is a mandatory roll call at every meal on the weekend.

6.30pm

Activities

Different activities will be on offer during this time dependent on time of year and weather.

One hour prep on Sundays to get ready for the upcoming week.

8.30pm

Prepare for Bed

Students prepare for the next day, prepare for bed.

Students are to have their clothing neatly stored, properly folded and clean; boots and shoes are polished and stored tidily; no food stuffs left lying about, area tidy, recreation rooms clean, school bag packed for the next day and school uniform ready for the next day, etc.

Juniors are to secure their phones, laptops and portable electronic devices turned off on the charger and secured in their allocated technology locker 15 minutes before their allocated lights out time.

At any time on weekends or of an evening on weekdays the Duty Staff may order a roll call by ringing three bells. On the ringing of three bells all students are to move to the Assembly Area to have their name marked off in Year Groups.

Boarding at our school

All students at Yanco Agricultural High School are boarders with approximately 350 students (boys and girls) residing at the school for 40 weeks of the year.
